Introduction to the VB / MySQL Project
About this guide
This guide is being written in order to provide people with a “quick start” to using MySQL with VB .NET. It’s going to be written in stages - as I continue my journey through my first serious project. This is the first installment - and really only sets out to answer one question - “Why VB and MySQL?”
I’m writing it mainly because I’m benefiting from a ton of work by other people and I feel an obligation to give something back.
The guide will, eventually, take the form of a set of chapters that you could use to replace the chapters on VB and MS-SQLServer in the various books on VB .NET.
There are loads of other resources, and I’ll try to keep an up-to-date list of links as I go along.
