There I was, stuck at Heathrow, with 5 hours to kill. I’m not about to “cross over” and go to departures because, well - I have to admit - I want t o be able to “nip out” for a breath of “fresh air” once in a while.

So what do you do? Wandering around Terminal 4 in search of somewhere to sit down and do some work, I saw a sign saying “Yotel“, which advertised cabins for £25.00 for four hours. Intrigued, I wandered in…

Yotel is a funky new kind of hotel, it’s very compact with tiny well-designed rooms. The lovely Zuzanna checked me in quickly (you can also check in at an automated booth) and lead me down a futuristic-looking corridor and let me into my cabin. I’d opted for a “standard cabin” - although the “Superior” cabins look pretty swanky.

Shower, bed, television , free internet - And privacy! All for £25.00. Superb value. Beats the living daylights out of struggling with the crowds in the airport lounges. I am totally convinced.
